Jungo Yacht Club — Membership Agreement

This Membership Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between the undersigned individual ("Member") and Jungo Land Sailing LLC, a Nevada limited liability company operating as Jungo Yacht Club ("the Club"). By signing this Agreement, the Member agrees to abide by all Club rules, guidelines, and policies, and acknowledges the terms set forth herein.

1. Membership and Eligibility

Membership in Jungo Yacht Club ("the Club") is open to any individual who agrees to abide by the Club's bylaws, rules, and guidelines, and who pays the applicable annual membership dues. The Club reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership at its sole discretion for conduct unbecoming a member, violation of Club rules, or actions detrimental to the Club or its members. Membership is non-transferable and dues are non-refundable except as expressly stated in the Club's refund policy.

2. Membership Tiers and Dues

The Club offers the following annual membership tiers:

  • Bosun ($50/year) — Entry-level membership with access to basic Club facilities and events.
  • Captain ($100/year) — Full membership with access to all Club facilities, boat reservations, pod reservations, and racing events.
  • Admiral ($250/year) — Premium membership with all Captain benefits plus priority booking, storage benefits, and enhanced Club access.

Annual dues are payable at the time of membership application and upon each annual renewal. Membership is valid for one calendar year from the date of payment. The Club may adjust dues rates with reasonable advance notice to members.

3. Member Conduct and Community Standards

Members are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous, respectful, and sportsmanlike manner at all times while on Club property or participating in Club-sanctioned activities. The following standards apply:

  • Treat all members, guests, and Club property with respect.
  • Resolve disputes calmly and report unresolved conflicts to Club administration.
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or threatening behavior of any kind.
  • Respect the privacy and personal space of fellow members.
  • No use of illegal substances on Club property.
  • Alcohol consumption is permitted in moderation; intoxicated individuals must not operate boats or vehicles.

4. Club Facility Use

Members are granted access to Club facilities including the playa, clubhouse, and designated camping areas, subject to the following:

  • Stays at the Club are limited to a maximum of 7 days per month. The Club is not to be used as a permanent or semi-permanent residence.
  • Members who abuse the stay policy are subject to immediate suspension or termination of membership.
  • Guests may be brought by members but must sign the Club's Guest Liability Waiver before participating in any activities.
  • Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests and will be held accountable for any damage or violations caused by their guests.
  • Facilities must be left clean and in the same condition as found — or better.

5. Leave No Trace — Environmental Stewardship

The Club operates in a sensitive desert environment. All members agree to the following Leave No Trace principles:

  • Pack out all trash, recycling, and debris — including cigarette butts and food scraps.
  • Only flush toilet paper in club restrooms. No wipes, paper towels, or other materials.
  • All black water and gray water must be disposed of at the designated dump station only. Never dump waste water on the playa.
  • Use existing fire pits when available. If creating a new fire area, fully extinguish the fire, remove all ash, and scatter rocks when done.
  • The playa surface is fragile — members must follow all guidance to protect it.

6. Rain and Playa Conditions

In the event of significant rainfall, members must leave the playa surface within 15 minutes of rain beginning. The playa becomes impassable when wet and can remain so for up to 24 hours after rain stops. Even 4-wheel drive vehicles will become stuck on a wet playa. Members are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and heeding warnings from fellow members and Club administration.

7. OHV and Vehicle Restrictions

OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) usage in the Black Rock Desert–High Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (NCA) is restricted to designated routes only. Members are strictly prohibited from using OHV vehicles on club property or the playa due to the damage such vehicles cause to the surface. E-bikes and motorcycles used for transportation and touring purposes are permitted provided they comply with all applicable BLM regulations.

8. Dog Policy

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the Club. Members bringing dogs agree to the following:

  • Pick up after your dog immediately at all times.
  • Dogs may be off-leash only if they are well-behaved and under reliable voice control.
  • Any dog displaying signs of aggression must be leashed immediately.
  • Members are fully responsible for any injury or damage caused by their dog.

9. Quiet Hours and Noise

Members are expected to be considerate of fellow members and the surrounding environment regarding noise levels. Generator use and amplified sound should be minimized during nighttime and early morning hours. The natural quiet of the desert is a valued part of the Club experience.

10. Firearms and Weapons Policy

For the safety and comfort of all members and guests, firearms and weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on Club property and the surrounding playa. This policy applies to all members and guests at all times. Violations of this policy will result in immediate removal from Club property and may result in termination of membership.

11. Club Boat and Equipment Responsibility

Members who use Club boats or equipment are responsible for their care and condition. If a Club boat or piece of equipment is damaged during a member's use, the member is responsible for ensuring prompt repair before the next scheduled reservation. If timely repair is not possible, the member must immediately notify Club administration and any other members with upcoming reservations that may be affected.

12. Reporting Issues

Members are encouraged to report any safety concerns, facility damage, maintenance issues, or conduct violations to Club administration at admin@jungoyachtclub.com. Prompt reporting helps keep the Club safe and functioning well for everyone.

13. Acknowledgment of Risks

The Member understands and acknowledges that participation in land sailing and other Club activities involves inherent risks including but not limited to:

  • Collisions with other boats, objects, or persons;
  • Capsizing, tire blowout, or loss of control of a land yacht;
  • Weather and playa hazards including unexpected rain and high winds;
  • Equipment failure;
  • Physical injury, illness, property damage, or death.

The Member voluntarily chooses to participate in Club activities, fully aware of these inherent risks.

14. Release and Waiver of Liability

The Member, for themselves and their heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby fully and forever releases, waives, discharges, and covenants not to sue Jungo Land Sailing LLC, its owners, members, managers, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and insurers (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, or causes of action of any kind arising from or related to the Member's participation in Club activities or use of Club facilities in the State of Nevada.

15. Indemnification

The Member agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to the Member's participation in Club activities, use of Club facilities, or the conduct of their guests.

16. Membership Termination

The Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership at any time for violation of Club rules, conduct detrimental to the Club or its members, failure to pay dues, or any other reason deemed sufficient by Club administration. Members may voluntarily resign by providing written notice to Club administration. No refund of dues will be provided upon voluntary resignation or membership termination for cause.

17. Amendments

The Club reserves the right to amend these membership terms, rules, and guidelines at any time. Members will be notified of material changes via email. Continued participation in Club activities following notice of any amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.

18. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction in Humboldt County, Nevada.

19. Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with the Club's posted rules, guidelines, and policies, constitutes the entire agreement between the Member and the Club regarding membership, and supersedes all prior discussions or representations.

20. Acknowledgment

By signing below, the Member confirms that they have read this Membership Agreement in its entirety, understand its terms, had the opportunity to seek legal counsel, and agree to be bound by it freely and voluntarily.
